Meet the Artist
My name is Stephen Dorr, and I am a local self-taught artist painting primarily whimsical wildlife and nature scenes. My favorite medium is oil paint. My family and I love taking road trip adventures to national and state parks, which is where much of my inspiration comes from.
"I commissioned Stephen to create this piece of art for my office. I shared that I wanted a mountain scene with red poppies with some other elements that would add to a Lord of the Rings sort of feel. I feel like he knocked it out of the park with the river, the deer, the island & boulders - it's now a focal point in my office!
He really listened & paid attention to what I was looking for, but added things that I would've never thought of and that surprise was such a joy to receive :) It's also so much fun to engage with an original piece of art vs a printed piece because of the textures, layers, and colors - there's just so much more to appreciate. That makes me as a viewer really slow down and savor the scene. I love this piece so much and highly recommend working with Stephen!!"
